The tower is built in 1762 - 64, the time of Paisius of Hilendar. The clock mechanism was made in Bucharest from Bessarabian Bulgarians. It is situated on the far end of the town sqaure.

The Town Clock Tower is the most significant architectural monument, which is a symbol of Berkovitsa. The tower was built in 1762-1764. It is 71.4 feet high. The names of its creators have always been a mystery.
