Pete took my family of five on the most breathtaking helicopter tour of the west coast of the South Island of NZ. The chartered trip took us from haast, up past several glaciers, mount aspiring, Milford sound, Madagascar beach, and countless other amazing remote places. We landed on glaciers, remote mountain lakes, river valleys, exotic beaches, and at Milford sound. The experience was like none other in any of our lives. As a bonus, Pete was warm, attentive, knowledgeable and always watching for our safety and well being. I spoke to several operators before booking and I immediately could tell that his company was a bit smaller, more personal and more intimately familiar with the Wild West coast than some of the larger companies up north toward the glaciers or from queenstown. Pete comes from a helicopter family with his dad having trained hundreds of NZ pilots. The local flavor, the expertise, and the clearly genuine love for the places he showed up was so apparent through the journey. I cannot recommend him enough!

We arrived quite late for our helicopter flight on a Saturday afternoon, but Pete our pilot and the wonderful staff at Greenstone Helicopters waited patiently and made us feel completely at ease.
In no time at all, we were up in the helicopter, surrounded by 360 degree views as though we were in a bubble. We scarcely seemed to be moving, but soon we had flown right over the rainforest and up over the mountains behind Haast, round into a hidden valley. We landed effortlessly by the crystal clear waters of Lake Douglas, which seemed accessible only by helicopter, and after a short stop we were back up to the top of the ridge and breathless at the amazing view from the top down over the Haast River. Pete pointed out lots of points of interest such as the Alpine Faultline.
Our landing back in Haast was executed with such precision, and was so gentle we hardly knew the flight was over. We highly recommend Greenstone Helicopters; they are such a professional, safe, friendly, group of people.

Pete made this adventure an unbelievable experience by showing us all his favourite spots in the uninhabited wilderness of Southern New Zealand. Breathtaking views from his helicopter that no aircraft could possibly have shown. A great guy who has has given us an unforgettable memory. Not to be missed when visiting Haast.

OMG!!!! Awesome weather for the most picturesque ride of our lives. Pete was an excellent host and safe pilot. Don't skip this adventure if you're in this beautiful remote area. Three stops: coast , Milford sound and a glacier.

Well worth the money that we paid. Our pilot took us all around the non-designated tour spots, his very own "backyard", he was really at ease and happy to chat to us. Flying was second nature to him as he hovered around landmarks, patiently waiting for us to take photos. We got out of the copter, twice, the first time to visit a mountain lake and the second time, I was able to make a "Snow Angel"! What an opportunity of a lifetime for both of us. We were both at a loss for words at the end. Thanks, Pete!

We recently flew with Peter .... WOW! What a totally amazing experience it was ... we have had many flights in many countries but this has to the best ever. Peter took us on the trip of a lifetime and showed us places we would never have been able to see otherwise...the sheer beauty of the Haast, Westland area is totally breathtaking ...to land on a glacier, on a beach, view lakes, waterfalls, rugged terrain and the snow covered mountains was incredible.Peter is a most knowledgable young man and totally passionate about every aspect of the beautiful South Island ... apart from being a most competent pilot !
Well done Peter and Greenstone Helicopters.....we will never forget that AWESOME day with you!

We were lucky to fly with Pete on our heli fly fishing adventure while in NZ. Pete is awesome!!!! He is competent, calm, and a wonderful pilot. This was our first time in a helicopter and he quickly put our nerves at ease with his ease and confidence. Needless to say the views were amazing - ocean views on one side, rivers, mountains on the other - chasing stags along the ridge - amazing!! We would highly recommend Pete and his crew - can't wait till our next time. Thanks Pete - Liz and Shawn.
