The place is ruined now with litter by shameless people. Many glass pieces in the surrounding. The visit was a disappointment. At least the villagers should take an action to ban visitors to the area.

Algama waterfall is once of the small & attractive waterfall which is located in Kegalle. I have been visited there more than once with my friends. You have take a bit of an adventures journey to see this beauty as you have to walk though a rubber tree state & also have to climb few rocks. Swimming near water fall is bit dangerous for anyone who don't know how to swim but there are safe places where you can enjoy the cold water. Also make you only to leave foot prints, nothing else. #TravelBeyond

This has closed by police due to security reasons, it may be open few months later.
But nearby this has another waterfall call Dunumala
I will add some pictures from Dunumala for your reference
Need officials involvement to arrange this place for tourists as there have only less facilities

Came here with a packed lunch from our hotel to have a picnic. It is such a beautiful place and was very quiet while we were here. Had a lovely walk before our picnic by the waterfall, nice and romantic with the wife. Another walk after the picnic made this a pleasant few hours

Nice place to have a swim in a natural pond
Nov 2014 • Family
This is wonderful place to have a half day trip with your family or frieinds.

I have been there for twice. First visit was with a group of friends on our way to Kandy. It was fun. we had long bath in the cool water. As it was a week day that was not crowded.

The next visit was with my familly and parents. as we had to walk jumping rock to rock , and that was difficult with the kids and parents we didn't reach to water fall. but we had nice swim and bath with the kids. That was great.

as this was a weekend the place had few groups and noisy.

on our return we took our lunch, rice and curries from a villedge outlet and meal was good.

the route : Head from Colombo along the Colombo – Kandy road to the Pasyala four-way junction and turn right to follow the Attanagalla road for around 4km. At Haggala junction, turn left onto the Algama road, pass through Algama and continue to Uduwaka where the fall can be found.
