Hidden away these truely ancient ruins reflect the long history of Boppard and the surrounding area. Still very visible and easily accessible it's worth taking half an hour to explore what's left of the Roman settlement. It's free and open to visit at anytime. If...More

This bit of Roman walls is a 1 minute walk from the markt and worth exploring. The best thing is the single massive block in the one small enclosure. It’s being used as an ashtray by smokers, but it is really the metal joint system...More

A short walk from where our boat moored we visited these fascinating old ruins as we looked round the beautiful town of Boppard. They are worth looking at as part of a look round but not a "must visit" attraction on their own.

Boppard has some of the best Roman ruins I have found - city walls, tunnels, arches. They are amazingly thick and it's easy to imagine the Roman presence in this little German town. All are open to explore.

Nice excavation of the old Roman fort that was here. Not worth coming to Boppard just for for this, but definitely worth seeing while in town. Only 3-4 blocks walk from the city center.
