My brother and his family have a Leonberger, so when my niece came to visit, Leonberg was on her 'must see' list. The statue was nice, but the surroundings a bit underwhelming. Donated by IAMS. My niece explained that the Leonberg dog was bred to look like a lion, the emblem of the city. We parked in the City Hall parking lot. 50 euro cents for the 5 minute visit. If you have a Leonberger, this is a photo op worth taking. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother.…

Kind of in the middle of a random commercial space, so don't go wandering the whole park looking for it, it's closer to the street. All in all a really nice statue of a dog, and if you're a Leo lover, it's what you've always wanted.

It's. Statue of Dog. Kind of cool, but not something to go out of your way for. The park behind the statue is worth an hour or two walk through. Complete with statues and some runes. I've included pics of the park with the review

It's just a statue, but if you love Leonbergers, this is a great photo opportunity. The history of the breed and its origin is significant for Leo owners but the statue is not well known, and is of little interest to others (we asked numerous people around town and most had never heard of it). It can be tricky to find as it is not located in the old town center. It can be found between the Amber Hotel and City Hall (Stadthalle) where Lindenbergerstraße meets Römerstraße.…
