The castle is imposing and beautiful. Climbing up to the top level you get excellent views. We were unable to go all the way as you can only get there with a guided tour (not to sure when they happen). The exhibits are disappointing -...More

It's a beautiful building in spite of being bombed during World War 2 and reconstructed later. There are many stairs to the various floors but not difficult. The views out of the windows are beautiful on a clear day,we were lucky. I didn't immediately make...More

Visiting Kleve on a day trip whilst on holiday in the nearby area in July 2017. As a royalist I was keen to go here due to the connection with Anne of Cleves however I was disappointed. Stunning building on the outside, yet very disappointing...More

From a distance this castle is quite impressive and it is overlooking the city of Kleve. We only decided to have a wander around it and in the little courtyard, which was enjoyable. The city centre with all the shops and restaurants is close by.

Staying in Holland we made the effort to visit Germany and Kleve is the nearest town. The Schwanenburg castle is very impressive and imposing over the town. We went inside and climbed the tower. At only €6 for the family it is very reasonable. There...More

Stunning building on the outside, yet very disappointing on the inside. Basically only the courtyard and the tower are open to visitors. The tower contains a poor collection of rocks and shells! Only one picture and a very brief mention of Anne of Cleves, Henry...More

During our walk through Kleve we finally visited also this more or less rebuild castle. During the 2nd world war this castle was almost totally destroyed such as many buildings in Kleve. After rebuilding/restoration this castle is the " court" of Kreis Kleve. The building...More
