Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The owner was very friendly. Being able to speak German got me a long way because he gave us a selection of schnapps to take away. His son in law is an fmr-Marine like myself so we started chatting and stayed for a few hours and got a bit tipsy.

Once a year, when I come to Germany, I shop at Erich‘s Schnapshäusle. I buy a dozen bottles for my niece and bring the 13th, which is free, back home.
This year, I attended a show how to make the Black Forest Torte. Got some good tips!
Afterwards, I enjoyed a cup of coffee and a slice of the best Torte.

Not being native German speakers, it was a bit unclear as to whether or not we could just try the Schnapps ourselves, but that awkwardness aside, the shop itself was nice. The staffer there at the time though, could have been quite a bit friendlier.

In this shop, you'll find shelves full with interesting bottles of schnapps. If you're part of a bus tour, you'll get a presentation and taste, but as individual traveller, you're on your own. No customer service or even recognition that you're there. Go buy schnapps at the supermarket.

We popped in one afternoon after skiing. The museum is interesting, the schapps shop excellent and the cakes afterwards were very well received.

This was on our to-do-list but for some reason, we did not visit until the second last day of our stay there. This was a mistake. The cakes that they have are the best in the area. Thoroughly recommended. And a schnapps tasting is also recommended.

The museum was not interesting. There were lot of things throwed together of the past. What do typing machines or oldtimer motors have to do with schnaps? Secondly, no information was provided in the 'museum'.
The shop was veey good. Here you can Taste your schnaps before buying it.

This schnapps distillery is a most interesting place with its museum. We came away with a bag full of bottles and some nice sausage too.

Nice place to return and enjoy the calm and peaceful atmosphere in Schwarzwald. Second visit, no museum this time. But this year the nomination of our family taste for Schwarzwald cake goes to this café.
Since it was nasty weather, the Jägertee was great help to warm up :-).

Fantastic little weird chaotic place but lovely, when I got in I wasn't sure if it was open or not. I didn't have to pay entrance which I assume you normally have to and got free Schnaps as well, what more can you wish for when you are Dutch? ;-) haha..but it is a visit worth, even if you have to pay entrance.
