A good place to breath in the forest! There are places to keep children busy and some activities for youth also.

Lovely spot, great views, magical area with the forest & surrounds. The site also has a high rope course and Externstine is close by too. Visited after the Varusschlacht Museum and great piece of history of German people and monument to Arminius.

Had a great visit of Hermannsdenkmal and nearby Externsteine. Magic German woods! The kids enjoyed canopying too in the park right next to the Hermann memorial.

A nice walk through attractive landscape to see the statue, add it to a day with the Adlerwarte at Berlebeck and Externstein and then you have a good impression of this area

An incredible statue stands in the Teutoburg Forest near Detmold, Germany. Impressive views of the surrounding forest and towns can be had from the viewing deck of the statue.

Hermannsdenkmal is a nice place to make a flashback into the late 19th century. A gigantic monument, celebrating the german strenght. You may climb to the top of the pedestal supporting the statue (easy stairs) and take a few interesting pictures from there. The monument...More

This is a great piece of Germany's history! We enjoyed hearing about it and walking the grounds! They do have an obstacle course that looked fun but we choose not to do it.
