Not open too often, but if you are at all interested in the life and work of E.T.A. Hoffmann, this is a charming and informative little museum, beautifully set out and with a delightful garden at the back - well worth a visit.

You need to be fit to visit. Lots of stairs. Helpful guide who provided information in English. Nice interactive musical exhibits. Every nook and cranny filled with something, nicely thought out.

Hoffmann gets a lot of advertising in Bamberg but when we finally made it to Schillerplatz it took some searching to find the Hoffmannhaus. Unfortunately, the haus was closed and we were unable to enter but it spurred our interest and we researched ETA Hoffmann....More
