The Roman ruins in Vaison-la-Romaine are centrally located. No need to pay an admission to visit inside the gate ~ the view from the sidewalk was perfect.

There is a large archealogical site in Vaisons from the Roman Empire. It’s all laid out so you can see where people lived. The museum also has films to show you how they lived. Note: the film shows in French and then in English afterward....More

This museum has an outstanding collection of Roman mosaics, as well as well-preserved Roman ruins. Well worth a visit of a few hours Both the indoor and outdoor sections are well presented. This was a major Roman city in France

The ruins are quite interesting giving the modern day visitor a glimpse into the ancient life of the Romans. The museum is also interesting. Amazingly, the ancient amphitheater is still in use today.

It is not Rome, but..the archaelogic site is pretty impressive. It gives a good view of the structure of a roman village. Nice, worth a short visit.

If you have been to other such sites you will be disappointed in this one. Not worth the cost of admission.
