I really didn't realise as to how many shells there were in the world and how they are formed. Many of the exhibits here do have English translation of the information offered. It is really interesting. The place is immaculate inside and there are small...More

We needed somewhere to shelter from a showery spell in Sables, and found the Museum du Coquillage by the port. First off, there is little doubt that this is an impressive and hugely comprehensive collection of seashells, and we spent almost 2 hours walking around...More

We had a fantastic hour here. Never seen anything like it before. Beautifully laid out and just stunning. Owner was so helpful and showed our son the pride cowrie shell of his own collection. Recommended.

Our young daughter was enthralled by the colourful and interesting displays of seashells from all around the world. The gift shop was reasonably priced, and may have sparked a new hobby. Lovely little museum.

At a loss why this excellent city would give such a large and promonent space to such a mediocre museum. Maybe it was ok 30 years ago.
