I always know I am near where I stay in calais when I see the lighthouse at the edge of harbour. A Victorian era structure that looks impressive.

Calais lighthouse was built in the 19th century and is 51 metres high, it is fairly close to the port. You can enter and climb the 271 steps to the top, entrance is €2.50

On a clear day you MAY see the White Ciffs from the top of the tower. It is quite a climb and only do it if you are very fit, The extensive views are superb anyway.Enjoy!
