Climb the 264 steps and view Calais. The lighthouse is a towering example of 19th century architecture, there's some great information on the building of the tower, and of the various functions it has performed during its time.

Iconic Calais landmark which dominates the seafront. We only walked around the outside but it was an interesting interlude during our brief trip to the town.

I always know I am near where I stay in calais when I see the lighthouse at the edge of harbour. A Victorian era structure that looks impressive.

This lighthouse has an interesting display regarding navigation through the years. Enjoyed the stair climb and the view from the top. The attendant at the top was very eager to talk about what could be seen and was obviously proud of his city. This makes...More

On a clear day you MAY see the White Ciffs from the top of the tower. It is quite a climb and only do it if you are very fit, The extensive views are superb anyway.Enjoy!
