This abbey was first being built on a granite island in the 700’s. Over the years it has been enlarged and now houses monks and nuns vowed to silence. Beneath the abbey is a town that has become a major tourist attraction with its small...More

I was so very grateful to find a post on the island - and they were open on Saturday! But, later when I passed by again to get more stamps, they were closed.

Went to purchase stamps in this Post Office and the man behind the counter was sullen, not friendly and I found this typical of people who work on the Mont. I guess they get fed up with the amount of tourist they have each day,...More

Lovely to be able to send an old fashioned postcard to family from this wonderful place. There were a few people when I went in the Fall, so it was not crowded.

La Poste is open most days (at 10) and there rarely is a line. So you won't have any trouble scoring stamps for all the post cards you've just bought at the several little shops along the street.

Conveniently located on the main drag in Mont Saint Michel. Buy a postcard and send it off with the postmark from Mont Saint Michel. It costs 1 euro to mail a postcard to the USA. The clerks spoke a little English and were helpful.
