We loved the relaxed spirit in the harbour of Port Tudy. There were loads of musicians, fresh seafood and many spots to enjoy your sun downer.

Lovely Island. Lots of history and scenic views. Highly recommend walking the island and exploring all the nooks and crannies! Dont forget to bring your bathing suit.

The ferry was a tad expensive but the island was beautiful. We cycled around most of the island and the views were breathtaking. I would recommend taking a picnic as round the northern end of the island there are not a lot of restaurants etc....More

I visited Ile de Groix, just south of Lorient (a short, 30 minute boat ride from the town's ferry port) with some friends in April 2016. The boat takes you to Port Tudy, just NE of the main town on Groix, Le Bourg. It's a...More

This small island can be explored by bike in a day, but I recommend a longer stay to enjoy its quiet environment and thin sand beaches. There are two camping sites, but not much choice of restaurants in the area. We spent a very pleasant...More

Excellent walking trail around the coast of the island; well signposted and with fab views. Ferry from Lorient works well and is comfortable . seem to be plenty of cafes/bars to eat at, even in October. Plentiful supply of bikes available as you get off...More
