Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A fascinating museum showing the craftsmanship involved in fabric printing in the Alsace region. Beautiful intricate work - so time consuming- and with magnificent results. Would have like about 5 meters of each print!!

A very pleasant experience tracing the history of printed fabric in the Alsace area. As a visitor with limited French language skills it was difficult to make the most of the experience. The staff were very helpful & keen to promote the museum.

This is an unusual topic, but textile printing has been quite important to Mulhouse. Kudos to the textile printers of the 19th century who decided to start saving exemplaires of their equipment. Well worth your time.

Very boring and not worth your time. I am a Home Ec. Major and I expected to enjoy it, but did not like it at all. Not a lot to see.

I expected more of this museum. The picture with the 3 dresses got my attention but in total there are only 15 of those costumes. The rest are walls with different print patterns.

Reception was helpful, exhibits well presented with clear explanation of the development of fabrics and processes through history at Mulhouse. English language information available. Special displays were very interesting and well presented. Seemed to be short of staff when we visited, nobody in the café or shop. Shop had extensive, but expensive range of goods, more up market than souvenirs. A guide book to the museum would have been nice to buy.

Really worth to make a stop and see the collection. Also the temporary exhibition "Histoire de femmes" was a real discovery to me.

It's very unusual for a museum to combine technical and artistic aspects of a subject as effectively as this one does. Mrs M was inspired to delve further to see whether some of her ancestors who used to live in Mulhouse were involved in the textile business. We had a fascinating lesson in the use of block-prints from a one of the museum's staff who explained things very engagingly. The display of giant printing machines was as impressive as the exhibition describing how the local textile printing industry was eventually beaten by competition from Japan. Too hurried a visit, we'd have liked to stay longer and seen more.

The staff were helpful. there was a cafe and a shop but the displays about Mulhouse history and the history of textile design and manufacture, taking in the history of colour which overlaps with the history of colour for art lovers was very interesting. I speak some French and altnough there is enough text in English to suffice, I think it is better if you can understand a bit of French,,

I loved the Asian part of the exhibition. The actual fabrication of textiles was not that great: I've seen better museums explaining the process behind the weaving, printing and colouring of the fabrics.
