Ok, I was the one in the group that didn't want to make the climb. My eyes were on the shopping! I am so glad I did! Beautiful view almost at every turn…both the architect and the ocean! We were with two other couples from...More

We were very disappointed, to find this Citadel has been lallowed to decay ! The outside looks great, walking up into the Citadel was a complete let down

Very interesting historically and commanding a superb view over the bay, beaches and the mountains and villages of the Balagne. The church is worth a visit, especially its 16th century crucifix.

It is well worth climbing to explore this fascinating citadel and there are some good coffee shops at the top!

We used to be a little suspicious to visit all "must sees" but are happy to have done this one. It takes a healthy climb to reach the Citadel but you are rewarded with a fantastic all around view of the city and the sea....More

Travelled here on the train on a Saurday in September. It was, the train, that is, very busy and it was duifficult to get seats. However definitely worth the trip and just to see guys from the French Foreign Legion.

We were taken on a guided tour. It is a steep climb but worth it for the wonderful views. We had quite a history lesson and it is most interesting. Not for the unfit or those with waljing difficulties.

We visited Calvi as part of a tour of Corsica and every town seems to have its own citadel. Like most of the others this one is on the top of a hill and does require a little stamina to climb the many steps but...More

Our cruise had docked off Calvi and we decided to have a climb up to the citadel to have a look around. It’s definitely worth the walk as the views are stunning and you can walk all the way round, as well as venturing down...More

It's a short uphill stretch, not too taxing even for me, to get to the citadel and it's worth it for (a) the beautiful views (b) the quaint streets and houses and (c) the icecream shop!
