Welcoming from the start, we had an AMAZING day with this crew heading up the river to the Bridge to Nowhere. If you're in the area, do the tour, support the locals. Also - dress warm for the boat. Even if the day is warm, a lot of the river is shaded, and you'll be travelling at 60+km/hr in an open boat for at least an hour each way. You WILL get cold if you don't put on enough warm layers. If you're a quick changer, you can drop some warm layers before getting off the boat, saving the need to carry them the 1.5 hours return to the B2N.

We had a great day. A couple of our party were less-able, but Thomas (driver/guide) made sure we all got there and back while still enjoying the scenery, history and atmosphere. This would be a fantastic place to stay for a couple of days and make full use of the canoes, jet boat, café and good company. The campsites looked very inviting in the morning sun. Good coffee too. Friendly, knowledgeable, super-helpful, entertaining and warm people. Family (adults) was our group make-up

Very helpful staff and Tom our guide on the jet boat up the river on Sun 28 Feb 2021 was very helpful with historical information during stoppages on the trip and at the Bridge to Nowhere. The jet boat trip in itself was exhilarating and the walk through the bush was easy for 2 over 80 year old tourists. Wonderful service from everybody involved.

Amazing weekend exploring NZ's own backyard with thanks to Whanganui river adventure. Such a hidden gem. We arrived Friday night at their campground. Did their jet boat ride upstream and canoed back. Then caught a shuttle and mountain biked to the bridge to nowhere on Saturday. Big shout out to Junior and his Whanau (sorry cant remember names! but they were all awesome). Great campsite to stay at. Hot showers. Clean. Amazing stars and bird noises at night.
