Fabulous morning exploring Lake Awoonga in a very comfortable and well maintained 4.2m 15hp boat. Saw loads of wildlife.

A pity the water board has done such a good job with the recreation facilities here, but has neglected the great business opportunity to open the cafe that is sitting idle.

We stopped off here to try our luck at catching a Barra. The fish had all been released here as fingerlings and how they have grown we caught and released several around the 75cm. Good spot to stay if you get the chance.

We travelled to Awoonga Dam with our family to enjoy a cool dip. It is a nice relaxing area that has toilet facilities and playground for the children. There are also various sporting equipment such as jet-skis for hire should you be more daring.

Was a day visit, worth the stop on a road trip views and scenery are just outstanding here.
They have a really nice campsite here as well, and you can rent boats etc to go out, hiking and biking trials.
