About
Family owned Hydroponic Strawberry farm located in Upper Moutere Tasman that sells freshly picked strawberries in season October to April . Over winter we are a Farm shop selling fresh fruit and veggies, real fruit ice creams , frozen berries and Moutere Fruits real fruit jams. Come for drive to our beautiful rural setting and shop local.

If you like jams and chutneys, give Moutere Fruits a try! I've tried their Orange Marmalade Jam, my current favourite; it's delicious. There are numerous others to try that have excellent flavour and consistency. So highly recommended! With the least amount of sugar of any jam, an aesthetically pleasing hexagonal glass jars, and a fantastic free delivery service too.

Are you wanting the best strawberries in New Zealand? If you are in the Nelson area a must visit is Moutere Strawberries. The jams are also to die for. A brilliant example is the chilli strawberry. Have a real fruit ice cream while you are mulling over the choices. So yum. Sally the owner is fantastic too. Meet her friendly 2 kuni kuni pigs that are part of the scene. 🤣🍓🍓🍓

I’m super grateful that this place is about 2.0 minutes down the road from home for when I have a bit of cabin fever & just want yuu fresh berries over summer, the ice cream and drinks made there are a added BONUS! Always a friendly face at the hut if it’s the young lady or the owner, the dogs comb to greet you; also a bonus!
You can sit outside at the tables under the umbrellas or pick a cozy bean bag and enjoy your yums!
This isn’t a pick your own berry place, that’s no problem tho as the strawberries are worth stopping for, I’ve bought jam here before & requested a chilli one so bought the strawberry/jalapeno hopefully right! Often happy eggs are available as well 😀

Great strawberries as usual but if u are going to serve fresh fruit icecreams please please....have someone that doesn't take 5 mins between each one ( this is not an exaggeration)to clean down the machine, faff around and in general extend the wait time( 10 mins we where told) to about 40. To the owner of the business whom appeared to have no time management skills and was reading off scraps of paper, get a decent ordering system going, otherwise the rush hour will turn to 0 hour. If u are worrying about cross contamination of products have a large warning notice re "may contain etc" covers your bases. Put the responsibility back on the customer. Plenty of family members that where wandering in and out surely one must be able to speed the process up a bit!

Hi there thank you for your comments , we have only been operating the shop for a couple of months so we are still fine tuning some of the day to day operating issues.
Unfortunately on the day you visited we had just had a malfunction with the ice cream machine so a line of customers had built up while it was been fixed. Everyone was made aware of this and most chose to wait.
We also had a new staff member that day so my husband had come off the tractor where he was mowing a paddock to fix the machine 😬 and was in the shop checking everything was working correctly. He had to completely disassemble and reassemble the machine at a peak time.
We will look at a numbering system for Saturday and Sunday afternoons when it gets busy but as we only have one icecream machine and real fruit ice creams do take longer to prepare there may always be slight delays in rush hour.

The icecreams were average, not much fruit in there!
The owner was very grumpy trying to get his sheep back in the paddock among people moving cars and ordering icecreams. Not friendly at all, hopefully just a bad day!
