About
Summer (Oct-Apr) - open Saturday and Sunday 10am - 5pm or, if you'd like to visit on weekdays, just give us a call, text or email. Winter (Apr-Sept) - by appointment only: call, text or email for an appointment. Meet us, taste our wines, enjoy our art gallery and take a stroll through our family vineyard in the beautiful Moutere hills near Nelson, with stunning views to the snow-topped Kahurangi mountains. Our wines are crafted from hand-picked vines on Flaxmore’s north-facing slopes. Clay-gravels, climate and attention to detail have resulted in fine, balanced wines which fully express our vineyard’s special character. We also have a unique gallery with a range of art from local and NZ artists, encompassing photography, painting and sculpture. And, of course, the vineyard walk is your chance to explore the vines and enjoy the stunning views across the countryside to the mountains beyond. Dogs are also welcome, as long as they are on a lead.

My brother and our partners all visited flaxmore vineyard today 23/04/23. We were greeted by the owners who were so welcoming and kind with warm welcoming smiles. The service and knowledge of both owners were second to none thanks so much for a lovely little tasting we will be back! Also your wine… delicious!

Went for a tasting - interesting cellar door - very rustic with a room aside for artworks. Stuart gave us a rundown on their history and encouraged me, at least, to try the white wines. Pinot Gris okay, but the chardonnay (which we actively hate as a varietal) was actually rather nice. The Pinot Noir was still our favourite though and we liberated a bottle or two. It's a boutique winery so none of the fancy, glitzy stuff of the corporate - we prefer this type of cellar door as you usually get to meet the winemaker and get to chat. Excellent. Recommend a visit

We enjoyed our visit to Flaxmore on our way from Nelson to Kaiteriteri. It's only just off the Moutere road and easy to find. We got to meet the vineyard's owner, who talked us through a very interesting tasting of his wines and then we did a quick vineyard walk, which is worth the extra 10-15 minutes, as the views are beautiful.

We popped into Flaxmore Vineyards this afternoon and tasted (and bought!) three delicious wines. It’s a short detour off the Nelson-Motueka route and well worth it. The vineyard owners are super friendly and have a short easy walk through the vineyard which has amazing views of the mountains. Take your camera! My 83 year old father from England really enjoyed it.

Thanks so much for this lovely review. It was great to meet you and your Dad today - so glad you enjoyed the visit. Hope the wines don't 'evaporate' too quickly!

This is a great boutique vineyard to drop into as you head through the Moutere. The wines are delicious (very reasonably priced!) and you’ll probably get chance to talk with the owners directly about them. There’s a newly opened cellar door at the weekends and if you walk up through the vines there are stunning views of the Moutere region from the top. Well worth a visit.

We definitely recommend a trip out to the cellar door at Flaxmore Vineyards. Not only is the wine fantastic (we loved the pinot gris and pinot noir), but you can also go for a walk around the vineyard. There are great views of Kahurangi ranges and Mt Arthur at the top of the pinot block and we were even able to enjoy the vineyard walk with our pram.
Thanks Patricia and Stuart for a great visit.

Stuart was warm, hospitable and very knowledgeable in a balanced way about wine and the industry. His wines reflected that balance so we bought four bottles and will be buying more, regularly into the future.

Had great wine tasting experience at Flaxmore Vineyard. Great selection of wines & the host provided great insight to creation of the vineyard. Must do when in Moutere.

A very nice little winery off the beaten track. A must stop for anyone in the area looking for a boutique, great local vineyard with down to earth owners.
