Only azaleas were in bloom when we visited. Garden has great trees and grounds but it was disappointing not to see a lot of flowers. We visited on May 8. Azaleas in Stresa city were as beautiful as the ones in Villa Taranto.

This is surely one of the most gorgeous botanical gardens I have seen. We did not even know about Villa Taranto at all; I found out about it from one of the frequent posters on the TA forums. So glad we went! We arrived early...More

An Italian Friend advised us to visit Villa Taranto when we were by Lagio Maggiore. Let me tell you: I will go back. Maybe in April when the Bulp Plants are flowering. In May it was amasing trees and Bushes in full Flowers. And what...More

Not too much blooming just yet. Azaleas are just passing, lots of pansies and poppies around to be admired. Beautiful trees and everything is very well kept but I think you need to check what’s blooming before making the journey over here.

We drove from Stresa to visit this flower and shrub and tree site. There were some beautiful patches of poppies, sweet Williams, and daisies, but I certainly can't say that this is the biggest or best. Most of this walk is well maintained but trees...More

Went to Villa Taranto on a "locals" recommendation and it did not disappoint. There was a special tulip festival which meant every colour tulip had been planted and was stunning. The magnolia trees were also in full bloom and breathtakingly gorgeous - all this from...More

We came on a beautiful sunny day to see the gardens. You can park free of charge inside the gates. The ticket was E10 and we received a map and off we went. You follow the numbers from 1 until 12. I especially like the...More

One of the most underwhelming places I have seen in many years of traveling. The local guide kept talking about the “hurricane” they had for 10 minutes in 2012. Really??? And of course their favorite climate change narrative must be stated. This came as a...More

The 16 acres of these gardens are a pleasure in which to stroll. Beautifully paved wide paths meander in gentle curves up the hillside. Dahlias were the feature blooms during our visit. Lush manicured lawns and in the upper section fountains, pools and more colourful...More

Limited parking, boat is a good option, we took an electric scooter, it will take some time with a manual wheelchair, some slopes are steep but plenty to see on level.
