We visited the Rocca to wander around the grounds and enjoy the views given its position perched at the top of Sant'Elia hill overlooking Spoleto. We did not actually enter the rocca itself which houses a museum- for which there is a fee. We took...More

This is another must see in the Umbri district, many things to see and some great food to be eaten. I think a half day is enough, it was for us.

Take escalator to its top, walk all around the old fort for amazing views, so impressive! The connection of the aqueduct to the outlying fort is very impressive.

La Rocca is the historic fortress in Spoleto. You must add this to your list when touring the town if you want to get the history and backround of the area.

Worth a visit. Our visit was especially fun because there was an archery competition going on. Hundreds of competitors, all in period costume. Fun to watch. Castle was not crowded in spite of the competition!

A must if you got to Spoleto and a really lovely experience of what was once used as a prison after the Borgias used it. Really interesting.
