The catedrale/duomo is at the bottom of an long and attractive set of stairs. Entering the church, I recommend going to the back beside the apse and seeing the Pinturechhio frescoes. The duomo has been badly damaged by an earthquake a few years ago, but...More

We visited this place a second time, just after a brief rain shower. Most photogenic. One can eat there, or sit on the south side and take one's own refreshments.

This is one of my favorite piazzas in Italy. Quiet when we were there, just sitting at a cafe for an hour or so watching the world go by. The buildings are so beautiful, and it is so tranquil.......small shops in the square. Quiet, wonderful...More

The combination of a gentle staircase, a large square and a cathedral is very beautiful. The green of the surrounding mountains becomes the background, and it shines in the blue sky. On weekdays there is less traffic, so you can enjoy the scenery relaxedly.

We walked around and had some wine at a small cafe. Great little stores and friendly people. it gets quiet around 4:30, but we were welcomed by the locals.

The Piazza is the heart of Spoleto. We walked around the town and stopped here to see the Duomo. Spoleto is an age old town where you feel like time stood still. Beautiful scenery and people

After the noise and madness of Rome it was great to enjoy a small town square and watch the people go by. The duomo itself is grand and amazing. There are a few shops around the area and a few great places for a tourist...More

We love this location and return every time we visit the area. It never changes which is what makes it so magnificent. We ventured up into the cathedral tower, a wonderful health and safety nightmare if it was in UK. Here everyone mysteriously manages well!...More
