This place was magnificent. I was a little bummed not to be able to go out into the actual theatre, but there was so much to see that I gave this 5 stars. Most had english translations. Some areas are clearly still being set up.

Three floors of historical finds in a building alongside the roman theatre. It is advisable if visiting the many museums to buy the books of tickets to gain entrance to them Much, much cheaper

On our last trip, we only viewed this museum from where the picture shows the outside. Because we bought a "museum pass" we went inside this time and it was very interesting. Besides seeing the theater from inside the fence, you can see the areas...More

The amphitheatre and museum were right next to our hotel. We bought a ticket for several museums and places to visit in Spoleto which was good value and this museum was one of them. It was well-presented, and the amphitheatre was well preserved, and is...More

Really wanted to visit this theatre but in December whenever we passed by seemed to be closed so could only see from the gate. Even so looks very impressive so will try to visit next time.

This is a very interesting archaeology museum with a Roman amphitheater and remnants of ancient Umbrian society. Worth a visit and only 2 Euros! Located up the hill in central Spoleto

I'm a fan of small museums and this one has just 3 rooms, plus the Roman theatre outside. The entrance fee is just 2 euros. I was most interested in the bronze age figures and pieces of pottery, but there are also relics from the...More

From primitive Umbrian culture to Roman dominance to Papal influence... this interesting museum is small, but rich in many elements & creatively presented installations. The Roman Theater & Refectory of Sta. Agatha Monastary hold surprising details... Check out what's for dinner at the last supper!

My husband and I were very impressed with this museum because it had full explanations of the history of the Etruscans in English (and Italian). We had been to 2 other Etruscan Museums in Umbria and this is the one that we learned the most...More

This archeological site was next to our hotel and just unbelievable to see such ancient (Roman) ruins. Some of the steps have been restored to enable the theatre to be used in modern day but the atmosphere is still magical.
