Just a 30 min steady walk up a zigzag path at the top of Riva town lies this old Bastionale ruin. You can feel the atmosphere of why it was built here, then enjoy the history and the views whilst you sip a cool beer,...More

Beautiful once up there. My asthma was playing up, had to stop at every bench to catch breath. But was well worth it when we reached destination

Wonderful views but a very exhausting walk up the zig-zag path. Some markers along the way or something to let you know how much further you have to go would be helpful, glad we visited but there are many other things I'd recommend before doing...More

A very nice historic place with spectacular views of the north of Lake Garda. I just wish I’d been better prepared for the exhausting walk up - a big drink in the Bastiones restaurant was a lifesaver!

We went to the church higher up and this is on way, had lunch before the big trek up. Great views , wear good footwear and have a break here before going up to the shrine

A relatively easy, but uphill trail for about 15 minutes to the Bastion which has been partially restored and all levels are accessible to explore. The windows make for natural frames for photographs of the bay and old city of Riva.

A very good path that zig zags up to the Bastion, although still quite a walk up but well worth it for the views of Riva del Garda. Thankfully there is a bar there too!

This is quite a steep climb up paths, I was out of breath by the end. It was worth it for the views and we didn’t stop but the restaurant by the Bastion seemed to be serving really nice food. Took us about 30 mins...More

I agree with the other answers, it would be possible with difficulty. The pathway has tracks for cars but these might be too wide for a wheelchair. Having said that, many families with children in buggies made it up the... More

It's a steadily steep climb up, but on a well-surfaced trail.
