We walked past the Grotta on the was down to the city. Careful work was being done on it. It would be neat to see it with all the plants flowering. I guess we need to come back!!

I had this on my list of things to see while in Positano. It took us a bit to find it. We climbed a bunch of stairs. I mean a bunch and there it was at the very top of one set. I had expected...More

As you drive into Positano look out for this clutch of little buildings cut into the rock face, forming a most unusual village. If you have a chance to stop, it is well worth strolling back and taking a closer look. Especially over the Christmas...More

Positano is built into a rocky hillside on the coast. With only one way down into town and one way up and out you have to pass by my "rock altar" , Grotta di Fornillo. Just like the rest of town it is quite unique....More

While driving the Amalfi coast, you can easily drive past this very unique piece of artwork. Don't drive too quickly and park before you drive through the tunnel and you can get a quick photo opp in.

This is such a beautiful place to visit due to the work it involved in creating it. Unfortunately there is no writing to indicate it's purpose or its background.

We found this place after walking up the steps from the Fornillo beach. We had read about it but had no idea where it was. It is as lovely as everyone else describes. You'd only look at it for 5 mins or so but it...More

We stumbled upon this little roadside grotto after we exited the lot 50m up the street after parking our car (4€ per hour or fraction). We thought it was, for a one hundred year old effort, quite compelling. We snapped a few photos, studied the...More
