Pleasant walk
Nov 2019
This walk is nice enough. It is flat but you can walk up to the St Claudio church if you want some uphill. There are farm animals and birds and squirrels. There is a river flowing alongside. You have to ask for help to find the beginning of the track because it is not marked, once you are on it you will surely not lose your way as it is a straight line!

a bit boring
Aug 2016 • Family
the idea is great- follow the track of a former railway road. The scenery is nice (bit nothing more), but since the railway tracks (logically) followed more or less the road spoleto-norcia, you hear the whole time the humming and roaring of cars and motorcycles. The walk is also one way: you go 6 km up, and then you must return the same way back. Somewhat in the middle you can rest at a sad fishing pond.

A joyous Short Walk
Jun 2016 • Friends
We took the bus from Norcia to Serravalle ( ten minutes), had a coffee and then proceeded back to Norcia on this almost flat walk and cycle way along the disused railway. It was a joy with an abundance of flowers, streams streams, farmland and an ambience that all is well with the world. I totally recommend for a half day,s entertainment. Incidentally with a helper this track would be suitable for those in a wheelchair.

A walk through the nature
Nov 2015 • Family
Following the old railway's path you can discover one of the most suggestive and beautiful piece of nature that sorrounds Norcia. During your trip you can enjoy some farms, a little river and the beautiful mountain around you. It is a walking and cycling path. To try it if you are in Norcia.

great with a bicycle

its a great way to spend a half day doing some activities. I would totally recommend this to burn some calories after eating in Norcia. The only problem is that the ferrovia is quite short.

Still around all these years later
May 2015 • Couples
Whether you are a cyclist or on horseback or just a simple hiker, this venerable old route will allow you to travel in a natural setting, much of the time in parallel to the main road. The river runs just a short distance away and the Valnera valley scenery will make any physical hardship seem worth it. Must've been a wonderful train ride back in the day. Summer temperatures can be very hot and the zanzares (mozzies) will also be present then. I am done. The end.

Nice but very short
Nov 2014 • Solo
I took the part from Norcia to Serravalle. The route is cool but only 6 km. Then you would have to go about 8km on the street with cars in order to continue on ferrovia. Anyway, it was good.

Classic Umbrian Walk
Jun 2013 • Friends
This 12-mile walk is a classic. The start in San Antonio di Narco is a bit tricky to find, but after that it winds uphill through tunnels and woods, with great views over the Nera valley. After the long tunnel, we descended and crossed the spectacular big viaduct just above Spoleto. We then elected to enter Spoleto over the Ponte delle Torri - and it was a bit difficult linking up the two walks - but well worth it in the end.
A magnificent day in the hills - highly recommended.
