Most Mt. Etna excursions stop at the Silvestri Craters on the lava-covered slopes, but with this exclusive tour you can reach the top of Europe’s highest active volcano with a volcanologist guide. Take a cable car and off-road vehicle to Torre del Filosofo and then continue on foot about a mile (2 kilometers) to the summit craters. Learn about the volcano’s history from your guide and enjoy sweeping views over the coastline.

Chiesa Santo Stefano Protomartire is the new Cathedrale. The old Cathedrale is in the Castello on the hill. The church is very centrally located and its forecourt is used by locals - the children have a roller skating lesson here in the evenings and they all gather here to chat. It is right next to the Chantilly Café with great gelati and desserts. There are two other restaurants in the forecourt area. There are some Roman ruins under cover that you can see. Inside the Church is very modern and considerably plain in comparison to older Italian churches. The stained glass is very modern.
