The drive to Opito Bay offered wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and coastline. The beach itself was empty - so we enjoyed wandering along it, searching for shells and admiring the panorama. Clean white sand and gentle surf would make this a great place...More

What a beautiful beach with waves and a stunning beach. The sea was very clear the day we went and with the islands in the distance and white sand it was glorious. It is so worth the drive if you are in the Coromandel area.

Over another hill from Otama Beach but again well worth the drive. This beach is long and shallow without the drop off. A great beach for kids to play in the water and be safe.

I loved the clear blue water, fine white sand and native vegetation around. Good for a swim as the sea is shallow and no rocks or sea grass to step on. I wish we had brought food for a pick nick. Definitely worth a visit!

First time here last weekend while travelling with friends in our motorhomes. The views from the road down to the bay are amazing. Good flat beach which I should think would be great for swimming in the warmer months. A variety of newer and older...More

Drove to here via windy cliff ride. Really hot day and we needed a swim. The beach was near deserted. The area is clean and the sea was so refreshing. Not many travellers/ tourists come here. Well worth a visit.

We spent a week here with our 3 kids (12, 10 & 4). It is one of NZ’s nicest beaches we’ve been to - warm, beautiful sand, gentle surf, sandy sea bed with very little seaweed etc. The settlement is super low-key with a mix...More
