Many steps take you to this beautiful church, entrance from the pedestrian street. The statue of the Virgin washed up on the beach in 1204 (Saint Mary of the Sea). 15th August is the day for the celebration in the church.

Lovely church with great views over Maiori. Do go between 2.30pm and 5pm when you can also visit the small crypt inside with church robes from different centuries.

The church was empty and we just popped in and out. It's gorgeous. There is really nothing to do in this town expect short little sights like this.

Their are a lot of steps to climb up to this beautiful church.Great views when you reach the top.Beautiful church.Well worth the effort of all those stairs.
