Originally gothic dating from 14th century was then "redecorated", like so much of Lecce, to the far more elaborate baroque style in the mid 18th century. Interior dominated by stucco work in side chapels & ceiling.
As we were passing by this church, the uplifting music attracted us. Although we did not understand Italian, the ethereal chorus was both calming and transformative. The inside was an expected elaborate design.
