Whereever you go in Italy most probably you will find something which has its origins in the Roman Empire. The city walls of Fano are worth to look at, hey are pretty good conserved.

Fano is so small that you can easily miss it while driving or on the train. If you have a few hours unaccounted for, stop in the town and walk through an uncongested ancient town.
