Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We left our B&B one day to go visit the Ponte. I got us completely lost and we ended up on a one-lane, very narrow dirt road that led to nowhere. It is actually quite easy to find, but I just messed up. In the end, we found it the next day, and I was thrilled to be able to see it and take photos. Very cool spot that is so historical. Do visit!

The stonework does not look hundreds of years old! But I am assured it is 13th century and well looked after as obviously historically very important for communication and trade. Not very wide, so light-controlled single file traffic which might involve quite a long wait.

The bridge was built in the 13th century, probably at the location of the ancient crossing over river Arno, due to the importance of the traffic route. It was rebuilt and well maintained over all those years, but it is still a wander how this extraordinary structure managed to survive the strong flow of the Arno for more than eight hundred years.

If you're travelling by car, by all means swing over and snap a few photos. I went by local bus from Arezzo (do-able, but not frequent) and found that actually getting down to the waterfront was a challenge-- very swampy, no good paths even though there's a park right near it. Also, crossing the 1-lane bridge on foot is unpleasant with cars zooming by first in one direction, then the other. Given the history and beauty, I was surprised not to find a cafe or something with a view, but there isn't any.

Many mysteries have been solved regarding the Mona Lisa painting, and among them is the location where the masterpiece was created by Da Vinci. The bridge is a one lane, still trafficked method of crossing the Arno in Arezzo - outside the city limits but still in the region. A small billboard sized sign features the painting with the bridge circled, otherwise you might simply cross it and think it's a quaint old bridge. We did not see any means of walking up to it, and the traffic would make pedestrian walks a bit dangerous. Our guide told us that it is now known that the masterpiece was painted in a house in the hills - a house that is no longer standing unfortunately.
It is amazing how much documentation the Italians kept over the years, which helped to solve the mysteries of the Mona Lisa -- as well to aid in piecing together the origins of many famous works.

Well just for the fact that Leonardo included it in his most famous painting it is worth a visit. Jokes aside, the bridge over the Arno is very well preserved and carefully renovated.
