One of the least "rebuilt" parts of the site. The rubble that there is shows some of what it was, but to the untrained eye, very difficult to interpret this as anything of substance.

The current state of the ruins does not easily allow to imagine what it was, but after a bit of reading and then some proposed reconstruction photo, it seems to have been really really huge.

This temple must have been huge! Look at the size of the fallen columns and caryatids! It's really impressive. What a pity it was destroyed!

According to the information at the site this temple was 60X100m! Simply boggles the mind that something that massive (a little bigger than an American football field) could have been conceived, let alone built in that time. There's a scale model in the museum that...More

The most destroyed of the temples you will get to see but these ruins are huge and very romantic to stroll through.

The biggest temple ever found, no lies in ruins after an earthquake. No chance of restoration as the took the stones to make the local harbour. Its still an outstanding sight, the sheer size will take your breath away

Basically there is not an awful lot to see unless you have a vivid imagination and a great interest in Greco-Roman temples. Perhaps if the temperature was less than 39 degrees C, I could have summoned up more interest. But it was the fifth temple...More

Despite being raided for building materials over centuries it is still apparent this was a hugely important site. The most impressive remains were those showing the figures which are now lying n the floor but were previously upright, all around the outside. A model in...More
