I used to go in Monticello Spa; In my last visit, in february 2018, I had a huge surprise: the panoramic sauna during sunset is amazing!!!!! Pro: saunas, outside swimming pool, the view Contro: The price, I found 36 Euro quite expensive, in London is cheaper than here. No slippers, only one towels. To be honest you can use also the gym. (The Zumba trainer was great, sorry I don't remember the name). Try it!

We opted for a couples honey massage with access to the spa for the whole day with the robes/towels etc. This was €248 for the day on a Sunday which isn't the most expensive we've been too. The variety of pools available and saunas, Hammam and steam rooms were great too and the facilities were really great. The pools were a great temperature and it was an enjoyable time. I'd avoid their cafe/restaurant though - not a great choice or selection there but the rest of the spa was amazing. Free parking too which was useful for us.

I had time and I needed to spoil myself, so I thought to visit Monticello Spa, which seems to have a good reputation in the area. Entry ticket cost me euro 35 and I cannot see any value for the money I paid. Next time I simply head to the swimming pool or I indulge in a hot bath at home. There I could even have the option of a scented bath soup or mineral. Overall water at Monticello Spa was not warm enough for a spa. It states 35 Celsius. I doubt or it should increase over summer time. There are 7/8 smaller rooms which are supposed to offer pampering spa experiences. I found that only one of them was right, a large steam room with a pool in the middle. Another smaller steam room was ok but not warm enough to my opinion. In fact it was empty. Some rooms were under maintenance. Maybe they should discount entry ticket until these are fixed? Sauna was off. It seemed it cold be used only at specific times... I find it incredible. Is it too much asking for a working sauna in a spa where I paid euro 35 to enter? Sauna with "fieno", the dried grass, was simply not hot. In fact, it was empty. There was a room with weak sprinkles of water directed to your ankles. I didn't see the point and in fact it was empty. A dark room with showers which were supposed to release a scent along with colourful light on your head. Nice concept, which unfortunately has poorly executed. Room was empty. Water was cold. So I raised my concern with the spa team member who was overseeing the area. I was pretty much shocked by his unprofessional and childish answer: "I don't know Ms, I didn't project and design this place". If that's the level of professionalism, I'm better off keeping my money in my pocket and not have a spa treatment like a massage. After 30 minutes (mainly spent in the indoor and outdoor pool, which was not hot enough and do not ether provide nice views) I decided to leave. Shower in the changing room was OMG the worst of my life! And I changed 3 of them hoping to find a better one. You need to push hard the button to get water pump. This lasts 10 seconds. So annoying. I'm not sure who owns or manages this place but they should probably change business or spend the next 12 months learning about spas. Would never recommend this place to ether tourists or locals. Tourists would get disappointed. Locals would get a total wrong idea of what a spa is. Shame!
