The railway museum is run by volunteer enthusiasts and I was lucky to have one as a personal tour guide for my time there. There is such a wide range of steam locomotives and passenger carriages to examine.

Good half day out, take the kids along and show them the real life steam trains and carriages and learn the history of WA's railway networks and how it helped shape the state.
