This is the second time we have taken a tour with Stew and both times the tours have been AMAZING!!!! Stew has such a broad knowledge of the National Park, Marine life and native species and we learned so much. We saw seals, penguins, Eagle Rays and loads of other fish and birds. The tour was great for everyone on our trip with ages ranging from 2 - 70+. Can not recommend this trip enough to anyone visiting the park for the first time or even locals that want to learn more about the park and understand why it is so important to look after this fragile Eco system. Can't wait to try one of his other tours in the near future!!

What a fabulous way to get a tour of the park, its history and ecology! We were on the boat most of the time with a couple of stops on shore. Our guide Justin was just the man for the job with his excellent commentary on the conservation efforts across the park, rib tickling tales about explorers who 'discovered' this piece of paradise and his all round helpfulness.
We saw birds, seals, stingrays, rock formations and a variety of native trees. In the shallows, the emerald green waters were like being in tropical sandy beach paradise! Highly recommend it as it was one of the best tours we've ever done in NZ and worth every cent we paid.

Our 4 hr trip with Justin (guide/skipper) could not be faulted. Justin’s knowledge of the wildlife and geographical features was great.
We had a very inquisitive great grandson with us and Justin went out of his way to interact with him which he did brilliantly.
He went out of his way to find blue penguins to view, and to hit land to see Adult whitebait and weka.
The juvenile seals perched on rocks were also a highlight.

I was not sure if doing a 6 hour tour work small children is a good idea.
Actually it was a great idea! The kids were happy during the whole trip. We first explored the many bays and islands before spending some time at a beach. For lunch we stopped at another beach and had more time for swimming. On the way back we saw some seals on with babies.
The boat is small but has some space to move around, even if it is fully booked (which wasn’t the case today) and there is some shade on the boat.
Justin shared a lot of information about the park, animals, plants, history which was also interesting for the children.

Great day out with guide and skipper Justin. A font of knowledge about the region and the ecology - kept the kids and adults enthralled throughout the 6+hr trip. Justin went the extra mile and showed us some off the beaten track places, flora and fauna. Morning tea was superb - thanks Mel!
A great company who love the region and are clearly putting something back into the environment.
Highly recommended A+++

Brilliant day for me and my family. Well recommended didn't seem like 7hrs because we were enjoying our day so much. Justin our tour guy was engaging and friendly even had my grumpy 13yo teenage girl interested in searching for sealife amongst the rocks

If your wanting a smaller boat with less people and something more personal this is the trip for you.
Justins knowledge of the park is second to none he knows all the best places to go at the right times, goes to the secret spots the bigger boats cant get to.
We had an amazing day out and found it really interesting and informative.
There is so much work that goes on behind the scenes that people dont know about,if it wasn’t for Justin and other volunteers this park would not be what it is today.

I loved the small group opportunity provided by this trip with a really fantastic guide who provided breath of information about native flora and fauna, history of the park and took us to beautiful swimming spots. Our guide Justin was excellent, you got to ask questions chat one on one, quite a personable experience and we were able to say what we enjoyed and he could adapt the trip to our interests. It makes all the difference having a knowledgeable guide to take you around and to places you really want to go, also being a longer trip gives you a much richer experience. Highly recommend this trip. Sinead & Eli

What an amazing experience. Everything about this tour, the people and the company was first class - we cannot praise them enough.
The tour itself was beyond what we expected. The scenery, wildlife, great company, lunch, and our amazing skipper Justine, made this an unbeatable day.
We learnt so much, saw so much and gained a huge appreciation for the vital work being done in the National Park.

We had the most amazing day. We have done many fantastic things in New Zealand over the past 2 weeks but today was special. Abel Tasman is out of this world and Darren had no time scales or pressures and enabled the o of us on the boat to enjoy the day to the full.
Thanks Darren for a great trip

Is it possible to get dropped off at tour’s end nearer to Marahau rather than walk an hour from Appletree bay? My bum knee makes walking any distance painful. I usually grin and bear it, but hiking 5 km is daunting.
Written 29 September 2019
Hi there, yes we could possibly drop you at Coquille Bay of the tide allows, there will be opportunities for shorter walks during the day. We'll make it work for you!

Hi Stew, last year we had the best daily boat and walk tour of our life. do you still offer this Tour? there are no comments on tripadvisor since last year. Best regards Christian and Betty

Hi Christian and Betty, absolutely! We are still going strong. You can go to our website to book. That's strange you are not finding our reviews, new ones are coming in all the time. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
