I recently enjoyed a wonderful trek along magical Marahau beach with 2 others and Leena as guide. We were so lucky to get the most glorious, sunny weather to enjoy the spectacular scenery and perfect peace and quiet of this part of New Zealand.
The initial briefing ensures that everyone stays safe and is able to fully enjoy the trek. The horses are safe, well-schooled and very well cared for. Leena is calm and kind and ensures that everyone enjoys the experience in a safe and relaxed manner.
Cannot recommend highly enough.

Thank you so very very much to Leena for accommodating me early in the morning for a private trek. We only saw it the day before, I contacted Leena and she could get me in at 8am. What an awesome ride! We got to canter a few times and loved every minute of it. I can well understand why in groups they do not allow cantering as it’s too hard to control the situation. Jed is a gorgeous horse and a dream to ride ❤️. We will definitely be back again! Perfect start to a day xxx

By far the worst experience I've ever had in all my trips to New Zealand!

My partner and I were super excited to go for an evening horseback ride on the beach! Were we ever disappointed!

On arrival we Paid in Full and we were informed that the horse meant for my partner had a shoe come off so there was a replacement, but it was a young "still in training" horse and would be on a short safety leader to the guide. Was this ok with us? Yes, We made the exception that hopefully it was safe enough to ride a young horse still in training...

Then the weigh in happened - which in hindsight should definitely happen prior to making the full payment... My partner was over the weight limit on their scale, but on our scale at our amazing Airbnb in Motueka the day before he was under the limit. How can you operate a business with horses that can't carry a 88kilo man?

We were informed that only I could go ride. That's no fun, who wants to go on a beach horseback ride without their partner? Not me, I told them I wouldn't be going if he couldn't as I didn't wanna ditch him either.

None of their policies were explained or presented to us before we made payment, I understand that our cancellation would require a fee, or full payment of mine since I voluntarily didn't go, but there wasn't a refund anything of both of our payments, even though they didn't have to take out the tour. I would think at least a little something refunded... 50%, 75%, 25% even $25 just on principal.
Something? since it wasn't our fault their scale weighed him higher then when we weighed the day prior, or we wouldn't have even booked it. That's fine they must need the money more then I do.

It was horrible customer service, by far the worst experience Ive ever had in New Zealand. I can see why we were the only ones booked that day... Also: you should note that you won't be able to take your camera with you on the ride if you do go, that was another disappointment I wasn't aware of. Such a shame that this was the experience that we had, because the guides seemed nice and eager to go for a ride.

We were lucky to have a trek with just the 2 of us and 2 guides (and stunning weather!). My partner had never ridden before but his horse (Gemma) was safe and quiet and looked after him through out. Our trip started with a quick intro into how to handle your horse before heading out to the beach. The horses were clearly looked after and well trained and we had a wonderful ride around the Abel Tasman beach. Thank you for having us :-)

My mother and I had a wonderful ride on the beach of Maharau. Madison and Sarah are super friendly and made sure we all felt safe. but the better highlight was of course the horses. they are so well educated, so nice and you feel totally comfortable with them as a beginner and as an advanced as well. Thanks to Sara and Madison for this beautiful experience!

My mum and me had a lovely evening beach ride during our vacation in Nelson. When we arrived, we got a thorough introduction of how to control our horses, perfect for all kinds of levels. They also had helmets and chaps there for us to use. The horses are very well looked after. We had lovely guides, Lena and Sarah, who knew the horses and their characters very well. They made us feel safe and we even got to canter, which was really fun and a great experience. The horses were easy to handle, and they responded well to us and if we needed it, the guides were always there to help too. There were two other people and the guides, so the group wasn't too big. It was a really magical, mystical ride through the beach in the evening and we all enjoyed it. We would love to come back and would recommend this beach trek to anyone. A big thank you to our beloved horses, Donnie and Jim, and of course to our awesome guides.

An allround great experience. Lena gave us a thorough grounding in how to manage and ride a horse and what to do in an emergency before introducing each to their horse and its character. Landscape and beach were beautiful and the price is very reasonable. Very happy with this experience!
