Even if it's raining it's a great place to stay. With the spa pools to relax in and the short walks if you want some exercise, it is a delightful place to just "be". I love reading and Roger loves watching Tv so we weren't bored.

Friendly staff and clean, well-maintained facilities always make this an enjoyable, relaxing post-activity occasion whenever near Turangi. Rejuvenating after the Tongariro Crossing, skiing, tramping or just plain relaxing.

We chose the public pool that we had to ourselves for half an hour. The water temperature was just perfect. What we saw of the complex was absolutely spotless. There is a small pool for the under fives and their care givers. The staff were friendly and helpful. My joints havn't felt so good in months. We loved this place

Have been coming to these pools for over 30 years and in that time not much has changed. In some ways this is nice. Its not super busy, over commercialised and noisy but its also in desperate need of some renovation! Had a private pool which was adequate in size but had a very noisy pipe going out of the... More

Enjoyed our time at this pool area. There are private pool rooms but we used the big communal one outside. Nice and hot, clear and relaxing. At $6 pp, good value.

My 5 star rating is based, as all of my ratings are, on what I got out of it! These thermal pools are run by the local Maori village and are worth making this a place to visit if you are passing through and especially if you are staying in Turangi or the local area. After a day of fishing... More

We came across these pools by accident. What fantastic value for a mineral bath and a warm swimming pool where you could stay for as long as you like all for $10 or $8 seniors. This was like heaven after heavy rain earlier in the day and after paying a lot of money for all other overpriced activities this was... More

Lovely quiet and oh so clean. Decided on way home from Wellington to visit these hot pools. Was pleasantly surprised at such a nice place. Walked over the small bridge spanning the river and into the little oasis. Definately a must for the traveler. $10 per person and $8 for seniors also a picnic area.

Long car-driving - less pause. And then heavily pain in the lower back and a doctor in Kawhia who refused to give an injection. But on our next stop in Turangi we found the Tokaanu Thermal Pools. Two lovely, sympathetic ladies at the reception (Thank you so much. I will never forget you!) lead us in one of the private... More

The pools have a choice of private and public baths. For $10 you can go in the private mineral baths and follow it with the public baths which is essential a warm swimming pool.It is $6 for the public baths alone. Note it is not a spar and is quaint/showing its age but we loved it. It was great value for... More
