We called in here with another couple on our way from Wellington to Auckland. We chose the public pool option as oppossed to private. We changed into our togs in a very basic shed with toilets and a change area. There were no showers in...More

Have been coming here for years- super cheap and not crazy tourist prices. Pools are a bit dated but i know theyre getting revamped in a few months. Not jampacked with other tourists and there is a free thermal walk right next to it.

We wanted to try these pools to see if there is a benefit from the waters. We think there is. A lot less expensive than the flash mineral pools in Taupo or Rotorua. You can have a swim in the public pool after swimming in...More

This is a tranquil place to relax on a long journey. It’s easy to find and the hire towels are great quality. We had a private pool which does need a bit of love to bring it up to standard but that is coming. We...More

Private hot pools are great to go to with friends/family for a soak especially after a day on the ski slopes or hiking in the Central Plateau area. They are partially open to the sky so nice in the evening too. Can be variable temperatures,...More

Beautiful outside scenery hides a rather uninspired infrastructure for visiting the natural thermal baths. Once inside though, great experience - perfect temperature, cheap price. "Public" bath was nice and warm too and included in the price of getting a private hot bath.

Great place for a needed soak after long drive from Wellington. Public pool could do with some TLC. Looks the same as 20 years ago but safe and relaxing.

Orderly, clean thermal pools. Of course they don't look aesthetically perfect, but no thermal pools ever do. The private pools are a perfect hot temperature and a 20 minute soak does wonders. These pools have a concrete bottom and safe steps to descend into the...More

I called in wanting a dip in the thermal pools, was there at 10.00am bang on opening time, large pool chlorine & public use, small offset rooms for Goethermal relaxing but as there was only me I didn't have a swim. Free walk outside though...More

A very relaxing and healthy soak in the thermal pools. We found our muscles and joints could feel the difference after several walks and stiffness. Had a good swim in the public warm pool! Can not do laps (boo hoo), but still free and fun!
