A beautiful ... but very humble church compared to so many others in Italy.... subdued atmosphere and décor was very interesting. A key structure in the unusual village of civita di Bagnoregio.... a village that is only accessible by a very long 1km foot path....More

About what one would expect for a simple, old village. Most of the residents left the village after the earthquake of 1695 demolished a large portion of the eastern part of the village. A new church was constructed in the area where the residents relocated....More

Sure it's a nice church and you visit because you are there. However, there are much better ones in Italy, and I would not go out of my way for this one - it is rather unmemorable.

Located in the main piazza is the St Donato church. It was quite plain inside but still had that reverence. There was a large altar at the far end. It was a shame about the bell tower which had been damaged in a 2016 earthquake....More

This has a plain church in a nice town. Tower looks more interesting. We walked in, took a quick look around and left. It was free so okay.

This unassuming parish church is at the center of Civita (pronounced Che-VEE-tah) but not spectacular inside. The reason for coming here is outside the church in the winding lanes. Check out the set for a film of Pinocchio (Gepetto's shop) down the street to the...More

Civita di Bagnoregio is well worth visiting. This is a small and austere church located right off the main piazza. Any church in Italy is worth visiting and this one gives me a feel of a very old or ancient site.

The only church in Civita is worth a quick visit. It is built over a pagan temple and has an 8th century bell tower attached. It has an interesting medieval interior.

Thesis a very well preserved historic Church in the center of town. For those who do not like the display of dead bodies in their glass caskets, be aware....they have one. There is so much history to this Church, and it's worth reading up on...More

In the main piazza of Bagnoregio , this is well worth a visit . The locals were making pictures out of plants on the floor of the church that looked very interesting,

If you are Civita, this church is a must see. It will transport you to a simpler time. So glad that we took the time to see the church while walking thru the town of Civita.

Beautiful energy in this church built on what was a pagan temple which pre dates Christ. The location in the beautiful village of civita di bagnoregio just adds to the experience.
