Enjoyed a great walk along the river into Miravet, along the front and up the path to the castle ( better than driving to castle car park). The entrance fee is reasonable at €3.50. There are terrific views of the river Ebro, the surrounding hills...More
Miravet castle is a standing testimony to a colourful and varied, troubled history of the Ebro region. There are no crowds so taking in the history is at your pace, either with a guide or reading the explanation boards. Shoes with good grip are suggested...More
We went to visit this castle with a mix of adults, pensioners and teenagers making up our group.
Everyone came away well informed and impressed with what the castle had to offer.
The information is thorough and detailed and the views across the river Ebro...More

This place is a great example of Templar castle building, set impressively on the hill above Miravet. Best reached by car, it is not easy to find on public transport, relying on a taxi for a good few of the final kilometres. It is hugely...More

There isn't public transport to Miravet. The whole area is quite rural. In fact there's excitement when there's a taxi. It is assumed that you have a car or you might be able to go by taxi but it will be very expensive. The train to Mora La Nova and then a taxi wouldn't be any use either as the Tortosa trains run on a different line which would mean having to go to Tarragona first. Basically you are going to need a car to enjoy the vast majority of what the area has to offer.
