- 74-GingerGloucestershire, United Kingdom14 contributionsStunning sceneryIt’s the beginning of the season, not too many people around, therefore not crowded. Beautiful sand beach dog area well signposted. Not all dog owners abiding by the spirit of the rules! Whole area was immaculate, from the beach to the roads and shop/house fronts. The drive down through the country side was also stunning 😍. If your looking for food, walkers fish and chips were amazing.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 May 2024
- Nigel CWolverhampton, United Kingdom359 contributionsThe beachSandy and apparently safe beach although close to the estuary of the river Dovey. A reasonable, but not extensive, set of facilities but possible nicer for that. Lovely views across the river and on to Snowdonia.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 25 May 2024
- Mccjgw77 contributionsMy family’s happy placeA little slice of heaven. Wonderful beach which we love, we have been holidaying here for 5 consecutive Summers and seen the beach in all its glory, from blazing sunshine to misty fog, high winds and rain! Each brings out different qualities and we love them all! The dunes are always great fun for my two young boys and this year they particularly liked jumping over the crashing waves (supervised! Note the quick turning tide can be very dangerous) We always come in “peak” season but even on a hot Summers day the crowds are never too much, plenty of space the beach is vast. Can’t wait to come back next year.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 25 July 2024

Staying as a family only 15 minutes drive to Aberdyfi Beach we had to check it out as one of our day trips and to say I was blown away with this little piece of paradise is an understatement.
We arrived on a day where it was due to rain but got sunshine and cloud which was a bonus. A beautiful beach which was clean and with super fine sand. The car park was large and parking and paying was easy.
The start of the beach is opposite a very picturesque village with a small selection of shops and places to eat.
The sand dunes are lovely but a bit of a tough trek if with kids as the grass that grows there is very sharp but offers great places to chill and relax off the beach itself.
We took the dog so stuck to the bottom end of the beach although the beach is huge and goes on for miles. Beware the Jelly Fish outside of the marked no dogs section jelly fish were everywhere and not small either
The water was lovely and clear and plenty of space for all even I'd imagine on the busiest of days.
The harbour area is lovely and toilets are available there.
We loved it so much we went back at sunset just to walk the beach and enjoy the views would visit again.

A beautiful sandy beach that stretches for miles. Clear blue estuary and sea.. surrounded by hills. These photos were taken at around 8.30am just as the sun was up. Only a few dog walkers and runners around.

We went here on a recommendation from the lady at our campsite. Such a wonderful beach and so many places you can food. Half the beach is dog free and the other half allows dogs.
The scenery around the beach is beautiful and we ended up spending a whole day there. Anyone looking for shells will be in the right place.
Car park near the beach was busy but always someone in and out. It takes JustPark the app and it’s cheap parking as well.
Public toilets are fairly clean and free, that surprised us!
Pier looked great and we saw people jumping in the sea which looked fun. There were people crabbing as well picking up big ones.
If you get the chance to go via the narrow mountain road you’ll not be disappointed by the views. The road isn’t that narrow, you get 2 cars passing each easily.

Lovely beach. We set up our chairs, the kids built sandcastles and were going for a paddle. The shore was then inundated with boats. Loads of people getting off and setting up on the beach (away from their boats so they at least had a nice view). Such selfish people almost ruined our day if we hadn’t packed everything up and moved further along the beach. I think the amount of boats and jet skis so close to the shore where children are playing is an accident waiting to happen.

No amusement arcades, no beach bars, no shack shops just miles of lovely flat, clean sands. Good parking close by , and this really is a canine heaven, almost every fourth person seemed to accompanied by a very keen, but well behaved dog ( of all sizes). Lovely views
but the evening sunsets were spectacular.

The drive into Aberdyfi is delightful. There is a small promenade area then next to the RNLI station is the beautiful golden sandy beach. It is very clean and lovely to walk on. You can also access the beach over the grassy dunes a bit further up just past the shops, cafes and bars. The weather was glorious when we went in September but the beach is quite large and not busy. Just stunning.

We arrived on a bank
Holiday Monday. Main car park full so drive down the road for and parked on the grass with 200 other cars for free- off the road so safe and no restrictions or risk of ticket. 5 mins walk back to beach! We did see car on road by car park with a ticket- it’s 45 mins waiting there. Beach is huge and clean. Jet skis zooming about a bit of a pain. Two lots of clean toilets in the town. Very odd lack of shops considering number of tourists. Literally those on the Main Street. Queued for fish and chips. Efficient service and good chips. So if you want a beach day, easy parking, chips on the beach- it’s great. I wouldn’t want to stay there for a week.

The weather was forecast to be nice so I went here for a day out with my mom. When we arrived it seemed like a lovely little village and the beach looked nice. So we had a look around the village and then headed to the beach. For the first hour an hour or so we were enjoying ourselves but then things turn bad a big group of teenage lads were throwing a rugby ball around which nearly hit us 4 times,it felt like they were trying to antagonize us. I approached the group of lads and said can you stop throwing your rugby ball towards us, please then I went back to sit on the beach but they continue to do it so at that time I was getting upset so I had to tell them to go away and leave us alone then they starting hurling abuse at me and my 53-year-old mom so we decided the leave straight away before anything esculated. so after that experience, I don't think we will be returning because it ruined our day out. It is very strange because I have been to many places in wales and we have never had that problem before. The people are usually very friendly and kind.

A vast sandy beach on the mouth of the Dyfi river which is enjoyed by many with plenty of space. It’s backdrop of the pretty Aberdovey village adds to its charm. The sand is soft with dunes too. Kids a plenty were enjoying themselves with water sports available for the adults. I last visited 30 years ago on an Outward Bound course and a number of the activities took place on the beach. Pay and display car parking just next to the beach. Well worth a day out.

Beautiful clean beach with amazing views. Toilets nearby that were clean and nice shops and restaurants in the area. Gorgeous fish and chip shop opposite the beach but we queued over an hour for them bank holiday weekend.
There are only a couple of car parks so at busy times go early or late.

Yes, bbq's are allowed, obviously keeping the fire risk in mind at the dune area and clearing everything away when you're done.
" Leave nothing but footprints please" 😊👍

Are dogs allowed on the beach during August?
Written 3 September 2018
Hi dogs are allowed up by the sand dunes but not on the lifeboat side but we have seen lots of dogs on the beach and no one that we have seen have taken any notice of the signs?
