Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fabulous beach, obviously great for teaching surfing lessons judging by the number of "students" and instructors on the sand and in the water! Public toilets are the only amenities. Small settlement of holiday homes and a camping facility.

What can I say, another stunning piece of the northland coast, with fine white sand, stone bays and great swimming and fishing! This is a magic spot.

Staying here for just one night while road-tripping around the North Island - just a small community with a few bachs, but a great beach and good surfing spot as well

Lovely drive all around the bay, you can see the mountains on a good day all the way to the other side, well worth the drive. From 8am stop and grab a coffee on a mobile coffee truck along taupo bay

Taupo Bay, north of the Bay of Islands, is a worthwhile visit. Especially if a clean North swell arrives. Banks at the southern end yield a solid, long, right hander. Great scenery too.

We stayed for a few days in a house just five minutes walk to beach, house no longer in market, and it is a stunning beach. Uncrowded, beautiful sand and warm water. For small children best when tide is out. As has been mentioned, facilities are non existent so come prepared or be staying nearby. I saw many boats being launched off the sand to go fishing. Recommended for swimming.

The site is ideally located for the beach. There's no dump station and the only water connection I saw was near the office. I ask where I could empty the grey waste and was told to just empty it onto the grass when it gets dark. Absolutely nothing to do. There's no shops, restaurants or bars within walking distance. The showers were dreadful,2NZD for roughly 3_4 mins. One night is enough for anyone with a low boredom level. Not even a little bit of free WiFi,although you can buy it. If surfing, fishing and swimming is your thing then fine. Wouldn't go back.

We visited Taupo Bay & stayed for four nights at the Taupo Bay holiday park & camp ground in our caravan. The holiday park was fantastic, it had excellent well maintained facilities. The host's were very helpful & informative. The beach was a great place for surfing & boogie boarding.

We spent a few deamlike days in this comfortable house, directly situated by the sandy beach. The house has all amenities for a wonderful stay. We have to come back for a real longer stay !
