There isn't much here, just a couple of ruined walls. However, the climb to the top of the mound is worthwhile because there is an excellent view of the town and Priory.

Sadly there is not much of the castle left but if you are passing it’s worth a quick diversion, not easy to find though as there is not much left.

With it’s scenic view of the surrounding of River Avon and the town around it, the castle is well positioned and peacefully set on top of a small hill. Lovely layout and pretty steps makes it a perfect place for photography. Definitely worth going to...More

Didn’t get out on this occasion to see the castle but it’s easily seen from a drive the Christchurch, it’s a small but cute castle and with a climb you could get fab views. Information about the Norman castle is available for those historians.

Not really a castle more a DIY SOS in the making. Out for a walk with Fergus, went up the small hill to it, through it and round it within a couple of minutes. Historic building but not a day out.

There’s not many ruins left, to be fair, as a castle on this lcoation was originally built close to a thousand years ago, so most of the original buildings have long gone. However... It was nice to climb the stone steps up the grassy mound...More

Not a lot to see, but it's worth the climb, to see the views over the town, and to read about the castle's history. Thanks to English Heritage for keeping it accessible and safe to visit.

Situated on mound behind the shops and near to the Priory, are situated the remains of the Norman Keep. Also is Norman House with a spectacularly intact chimney. There's lots of peace in this area away from the hustle of the shops.
