The Baltic Centre us definitely unique. It is not an art gallery. There are a number of displays of arty materials, videos and other displays. I guess what I expected to see in an Art Centre was more traditional oil and watercolour paintings hanging on...More

It was the highlight of our visit to Gateshead to have a whole morning in this seriously interesting gallery. Perhaps we were lucky, but to find 4 separate exhibits if such quality at the same time is attribute to the curators. Neatly, the presentations included...More

Interesting art and exhibitions. Good views from upper levels, and hundreds of kittiwakes nesting on the building in spring and summer which be seen close up from the outside viewing platform. Adjacent to The Sage and the Millenium Bridge, so lots to see in small...More

When it sees the total rubbish in its belly. Another here stated 'Kings new cloths' scenario, maybe as an oriental art couple this is the final conformation of our thought on modernism...good for the children in parts.

There’s always something of interest and there’s always something to keep kids entertained. If the art isn’t too your liking then the views are incredible from the viewing platform and the shop always has something worth picking up. Staff are always welcoming and friendly.

Amazing place, not really into contemporary paintings/art, but the work herre was staggeringly amazing. Spend quite a long time here browsing amongst such lovely works of art, will definitely go again later this year.

Great place, very interesting. We liked the video where people who had worked there when it was a feed factory were interviewed. Good views from the top

Contemporary art is always difficult to assess. Some of it is very inspiring/provoking but lots of it is pretentious rubbish (the Emperor's New Clothes). A mixture of both the day I visited, and one floor completely closed as "under preparation", although on viewing it from...More
