Fancy that! A 2nd Nelsons Column. He’s one of Norfolk’s own & this impressive 144ft does him justice. It’s a shame it’s at the grubby end of the impressive Marine Parade in a Industrial estate packed with cars of workers? & oddly facing inland rather...More

This is a fitting monument to Norfolk's greatest son Unfortunately it is in the middle of an industrial estate! Many years ago I was able to go up it-the view is absolutely wonderful

This huge plinth and sculpture really standout on the skyline. It is a great public monument, and captures the legacy of Nelson on Yarmouth.

Nelson was from Norfolk and there are nods to that all over Great Yarmouth from street names to museums. But this monument, lovingly built by the people of Norfolk and initially maintained by one of his crew, is the most prominent. You can see it...More

Had been meaning to visit this monument for a long time and am so pleased to have made it. Built well before the modern surrounding industrial sites, the monument is a tribute to Norfolk's famous son. Well worth the climb - which was easier than...More
