We visited Somerleyton Hall after recommendations from friends. The guided tour of 45 minutes was very informative, with great hosts who were very knowledgeable. I also really like that this is definitely a family home. My only comment would be that it would have been...More

We prefer to visit 'stately homes' which are stil homes, rather than empty museums. Somerleyton is a real home, and it has a lovely atmosphere. The original owners were 'new money' from the mills of Halifax, but you cannot fault their taste, nor the way...More

Superb and interesting country house with excellent, friendly and knowledgeable guides. A variety of wonderful gardens, an arboretum and a maze! Huge grounds with loads of parking space. Pleasant cafe and restaurants. A most enjoyable visit.

Somerleyton is still home to Lord Hugh and Lady Lara and their three young children. The house tour includes rooms still used by the family which gives it that extra special feel to the property that you rarely experience from stately homes. The restaurant has...More

Spent an enjoyable morning rambling around the grounds. It has an interesting maze. The gardens are well kept. For lunch had a very good clotted cream scone in the cafe garden.
