We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly, attentive service and a selection of every childhood sweet you can remember and a few you will have forgotten. A cute, treasure trove of a shop.

Part of a chain, this shop looks the part, with old-style sweets in old-style jars behind and old-style counter. The owner is friendly and efficient.

Well worth visiting for those sweets that are difficult to find anywhere else.

Very traditional sweet shop of the type and style you'd expect (or remember) from the sixties. Being quite small, try to avoid busy periods. The selection is huge for the size of the shop but the branded sweets can be quite expensive.
I'd recommend the large 'Pick n mix' selection add the best value for money or the extensive range of sweet jars behind the counter.

Our Granndchildren just love this shop and want to visit it whenever we are in Wallingford.
I like it too because, if you know your friends and families favourite sweets you can surprise them at Christmas or birthdays with a fit wrapped special present.
I however try very hard not to pinch the grandchildren's sweets !!!

Mr Simms is a chain of old-style sweet shops, but each one is set up so as to appear as being an independent shop being run by an owner who just wants to bring back the joys of buying sweets from old jars, getting them in paper bags.

And even though I know the history behind it, it works. The choice of sweets available is good; the Wallingford shop manager/franchise holder knows his stuff and is always helpful.

If you want your Old Navy Cough Sweets, your proper Pontefract Cakes or your midget gems, this is the place to go.

Lovely quaint little shop full of sweets and delights to make anyone reminisce about their younger years. Ranging from grams of sweets such as Bon bons, floral gums and chocolate peanuts to chocolate bars of all flavours including prosecco and raspberry! Pricey not just on the purse but on the waistline haha
