Welcome to Banbury Museum! We are a family friendly museum located in Banbury’s town centre, next to the idyllic canal side. The Civil War, plush manufacturing, the Victorian market town, costume from the 17th century to the present day, Tooley’s Boatyard and the Oxford Canal, are just some of the stories illustrated in the museum. There are also regularly changing exhibitions and activities to ensure that there is always something new to see and do

We paid an All too brief visit here during a short stay in the Town. Local history is documented within and the building straddles the canal. Plenty to see and we didn’t do it justice. There were a few children inside, all being well entertained....More

I paid to go in, and i have to say. its completely pointless, avoid this. I suggest making this place into a bigger brand shop or it could make a lovely restaurant. sorry but that was so poor.

We are regular visitors to the MAD museum so were very excited to see another automata exhibition-the exhibits were limited but of high quality, beautifully curated and enough to keep our very active 5 year old son busy for three quarters of an hour. The...More

The museum itself is interesting & the staff are lovely, however some of the history needs to be updated ( Alcan is no longer in existance etc...) We paid £4 to visit the Marvellous Machines exhibition and were very disapointed (however it's good for children)...More

I love to visit local museums, so to understand the history of the area. I was pleasantly surprised with is small but good museum. It explains the history of Banbury, and compliments this small but pleasant town.

For a small museum this has a lot to offer the children, especially in the holidays as there are always great exhibitions and activities for the children. Great location by the canal with the cafe over looking it. Our boys always enjoy time spent there

I do apologise for the tardy response Emfy - life has been a little hectic... I am not certain to be honest with you & it would best to check directly with the museum itself....
