WE arrived on a day that was cooperative with weather. Moderately busy with tourists. Took our time to wander. Worth the visit

A haunting abbey near an incredible castle, some of the area of the Abbey is fenced off due to the crumbling nature of the ruins. The gravestones in the back cemetery are absolutely ancient and are broken apart.

The abbey was a disappointment but still worth a brief visit if you have time. There is not much left in the way of interesting architectural features but it is an important part of Cahir's historical past.

We arrived just in time for a tour, which brought the building to life for us. It wasn't expensive and there is a car park nearby.
